SUMMARY/ABSTRACT

Undoubtedly, both DNP and PhD are integral to nursing. However, whereas the DNP focuses on practice, the PhD focuses on research. Also, inasmuch as they are different, the nursing profession cannot survive without either. The present author would choose to pursue PhD in nursing if they decide to continue their education to doctoral level. The decision will be influenced by several factors among them the capacity to explore sensitive areas of nursing from the theoretical perspective.
